Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol started his career as commercial artist. In the fifties Andy Warhol expanded to one of the most famous art directors. His first big success is based on a drawing of a sailor, on his knees injected heroine in his arm. This drawing was printed in the New York times as an advertisement for a radio program. He used to draw a lot of shoes. Repeating his designs in the visuals was one of his marks to use in the future and became one of his important signatures. Since 2007 Pepe Jeans has the license to use the Andy Warhol name. The designs of popart are nicely used in the collection.
